It’s with great sadness that it has to be announced there will be no public celebrations of Holy Mass until this Coronavirus Covid-19 emergency has passed.
You can see the statement from the Archdiocese of Glasgow here: http://www.rcag.org.uk/index.php/item/904-public-masses-suspended
At St Margaret’s and Our Holy Redeemer’s parishes we will continue to celebrate funerals at the cemetery or crematorium. We expect only the smallest numbers of people to be present as advised by the funeral director or local authority.
While weddings and baptisms can be rearranged, it may well be that arrangements for funerals will be determined by factors beyond the control of the parish or the family.
St Margaret’s church is closed.
Our Holy Redeemer’s church is closed.
Canon Tartaglia, Fr Joseph, Deacon Frank and Tamara are all well, showing no symptoms of the virus - so far. Sister Marie is in Ireland having treatment for her bad leg, which is going well, and she is in good health.
Remember, if a priest is needed for anything, we can be contacted by phone on 0141 952 9508.
Pray to God the Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit that this virus leaves us quickly, that we are returned to health and that we are strengthened in love of one another by this experience. Ask Our Blessed Lady, St Joseph, St Andrew, St Margaret, St Mungo, St John Ogilvie and the Venerable Margaret Sinclair and all the angels and saints to pray to God for us, that our fellow citizens with great minds, medical expertise and technical skills will steer us through this most challenging of times.
May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace Amen.
